W4YEA
Accessibility
W4YEA aims to be readable and usable by everyone. This page says what is built in, what we check, and where it falls short.
Reading options
Use the Accessibility button in the footer, or in the menu on small screens, to open a small panel. It never opens by itself.
- Original W4YEA appearance, a light reading mode, and a high contrast mode.
- Normal, large and extra large text.
- Reduce animations. Your device's own "reduce motion" setting is always honored.
- Your choices are saved in your browser only, so they carry across pages and visits. Nothing is sent anywhere and no third-party service is involved.
What we aim for and check
The goal is WCAG 2.2 level AA in every appearance mode. We run automated checks (axe-core) on the pages in each mode and at phone, tablet and desktop widths, test keyboard use, 200% and larger text without horizontal scrolling, and focus visibility.
This is not a formal third-party audit, and automated tools cannot find every problem. Please tell us what we missed.
Known limits
- Some pages use decorative art (the home hero, the signal band, the footer mark). These are described or hidden from screen readers and are not data.
- The Turnstile security check on the contact form and Station Log is provided by Cloudflare. If it is not usable for you, email us directly.
- External sites we link to have their own accessibility. They open in a new tab and are marked with an arrow.
